Gareth earned his JD from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law, completing his Articles with the Ministry of Finance’s Legal Services Branch. Upon being Called to the Bar in June 2017, Gareth returned as Crown Counsel, dividing his time between tax litigation, acting as solicitor to the OFA’s Corporate Finance Division on public procurement and financing of Crown Agents, and advising Financial Services Policy Division on administration and oversight of Ontario’s financial services regulators FSRA, IIROC, the MFDA, and the Ontario Securities Commission.
Since departing the Ontario Public Service, Gareth has served the needs of various private sector clients, advising provincial developers on contractual risks associated with Construction and Development Management Agreements, and assisting a federally regulated Not-For-Profit with regulatory and tax compliance. Joining RSG in early 2024, Gareth has returned to his roots in civil litigation, guiding Ontarians through various stages of Superior Court proceedings and negotiating beneficial outcomes for his Clients on a wide range of matters including real estate disputes, share purchase agreements, loan agreements, and investment disputes.
When not working to secure the interests of his Clients, Gareth enjoys cooking, volunteering, and spending time with his dog.
